A Versatile Data Acquisition System for Helicopter Flight Trials

OF Holland, JF Harvey · 1994

A data acquisition system is described that has been designed to meet the requirements of the Royal Australian Navy in conducting various helicopter flight trials. The system is designed around an industrial personal computer and provides for programmable configuration of selected channels and signal conditioning parameters. A wide range of data is acquired from analogue inputs, digital inputs, synchro inputs and the aircraft MIL-STD-1553 serial bus. Real-time calculations are performed on the data and selected information is displayed to the pilot during the trial.
