EBT-P data acquisition system design

Bruce A. Boyd · Proc. Symp. Eng. Probl. Fusion Res.; (United States) · 1981

The data acquisition system for EBT-P is being designed to fulfill five major EBT-P device data handling functions: acquisition, display, processing, storage, and transmission. These functions are performed by a hierarchical system of micro- and mini-computers arranged in a flexible network structure. The facility computer has responsibility for gathering data from the various subsystem microprocessors, storing it for both near-term access and permanent historical record, and displaying it on the EBT-P master control console (MCC) CRT display panels. The main operator interface to the computer is via several color graphics display terminals in the EBT-P (MCC). Programmable Logic Controllers which have the major responsibility for EBT-P device control and interlocking also feed data to the microprocessors via a high-speed data highway link.
