FLASP - Fuzzy Logic Application-Specific Processor Framework

Zoran A. Salcic, Zhihua Guo · 1999

A Fuzzy Logic Application-Specific Processor framework is presneted in this paper. The framework enables designers to specify and create fuzzy logic systems that are implemented in Field-Programmable Logic Devices (FPLDs) as the target technology. A set of generic functional units that make up FLASP is provided. These units can be instantiated by selecting desired values of parameters and combined into processors that support fuzzy system applications. Various hardware/software trade-offs are possible by careful partitioning system solution into hardware and software part. An Integrated Development Environment (IDE) hides the details of the implementation from the designers, allowing them to concentrate on the key application requirements.
