Cell search procedure is a key issue of synchronization, and Primary Synchronization Signal (PSS) detection is one of the most important steps for cell search procedure in Long Term Evolution (LTE) systems. The proposed PSS detection schemes can hardly detect PSS in LTE systems with large symbol timing error. In this paper, we investigate an improved scheme that detects PSS more reliably in LTE systems, especially in systems with large symbol timing error.
