Nonrecurslve digital filter design using optimum window families

It is well-known that the design of nonrecurslve digital filters of the lowpass, symmetric bandpass and highpass types using the window function approach is simple and quite easy to implement. It has been already shown that the l0-sinh family of window functions gave the designer the flexibility because of its adjustable parameter. In this paper, two other well-known window function families, namely, l1-cosh and raised-cosine , have been considered. Expressions have been derived in terms of filter order to magnitude ripple and transition band width. The performance of these two families have been compared with the modified zeroth-order Bessel (l0 -sinh) family.
