The Application of Knowledge-based Systems to the Tutoring of Engineering Students

This paper describes a knowledge-based computer system for tutoring purposes. Special attention is paid to the specifications, design and approach of the system. Two examples are used to illustrate the facilities developed during the first phase of the project, followed by discussion of experience gained and future developments.
