Cross-sectional imaging measurement is an important technology in reverse engineering.Cutting thickness has great influence on measuring accuracy and measuring efficiency.A self-adaptive control strategy for cutting thickness was put forward based on the reconnaissance projection images. The slope information of the inner and outer contour from the reconnaissance projection images was picked up,a thickness control mathematical model was established with slope as variable. The optimal cutting thickness was decided by the mathematical model. The experimental results show that this method can guarantee the measuring accuracy and greatly shorten the measuring time.
