Overview of the Personal Communication Network (PCN)

Personal Communication Network (PCN) is a concept which is based on the idea that all the telecommunication services can be accessed through a single integrated network. The ultimate aim of a PCN based system is to integrate cordless, cellular phones, mobile terminals and fixed network devices. This paper will discuss some of important research areas which will enable the development of such an integrated network for a PCN based system. This paper will also summarise some of the research and development work carried out at the Massey University in the area of PCN architecture.
