Reliable and Scalable Agent Group Communication Protocol Considering Agent Mobility

In this paper, we design a scalable and reliable communication protocol for a group of mobile agents to require low agent location management cost while enabling fast message delivery. This protocol has each mobile agent adaptively leave tails of forwarding pointers only on some few of its visiting nodes depending on its decision. Also, effective mobile agent location cache kept in each sending agent provides short-cuts to its target mobile agents. These features may considerably accelerate speed of message delivery and reduce burden of agent location management to message forwarding nodes compared with the existing ones. Simulation results in this paper shows our protocol outperforms the existing one modified for considering mobile agent groups in terms of message delivery and agent location information management costs.
