Robust and Sensitive Watermarking Scheme for Colored Image

Achintya Singhal, Navita Srivastava, Rakesh Kumar Mishra · SSRN Electronic Journal · 2006

Digital watermarking technique has been recognized as a helpful way in dealing with the copyright protection problem for high quality images and videos. Besides some practical challenges, it is adhered to provide security and currently no other technique is ready to substitute it. A colored image is generally represented in RGB color space and can be primarily classified into the flat featureless and textured regions. The textured regions constitute the content of the image and thus require a technique that focuses towards specifically securing these textured regions of the colored image. The algorithm transforms the colored image into HSV color space and then classifies into equi-sized blocks of textured area. On the basis of the level of texture captured within each block, the watermark is embedded in each layer using frequency domain transformation.
