Abstract: As the Internet becomes ubiquitous and broadband access becomes commonplace, the drive towards services within the IT industry is gradually taking shape. The Grid computing technology has been evolving beyond the borders of research and academics to becoming a key infrastructure for business collaboration and application integration. Similarly, the utility business model is becoming a dominant business model for providing on-demand access to Grid services within a commercial environment. In the software industry, this has led to the notion of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS). Our center has therefore, proposed a Grid-based Utility Infrastructure for SMME-enabled Technology (GUISET). However, usage accounting, pricing and charging form an important components for GUISET e-services infrastructure. In this paper, we describe an SMME-based enabling infrastructure technology called GUISET and present an adaptive accounting, pricing and charging models to facilitate efficient and effective service provisioning in our grid-based service provisioning environment (GUISET).
