Model-Based Protocol Behavior Adaptation of Web Services in OWL-S

In this paper, we present a model-based approach to efficient protocol behavior adaptation of Web services in OWL-S. We describe the syntax and operational semantics of the model on protocol behavior of Web services, notions of specification, compatibility, adaptability and adaptation of Web services, and a common mechanism for protocol behavior adaptation capable of mediating pairs of behaviorally incompatible but behaviorally adaptable even partially behaviorally adaptable services. Compared to existing proposals which are based on service execution traces or on reach ability graphs, our approach is formal, efficient and dynamic.
