Engineered wood products are materials that have been manufactured by bonding together wood fibres, such as wood flakes or veneer sheets. The markets for engineered wood products include furniture manufacturing, building construction and household renovation (Davidson & Hanna 2004). The outlook for engineered wood products in Australia will be contingent on changes in these markets, maintenance of supply of suitable wood fibres and extent of import competition in the Australian market.
