This paper presents results of a project to develop a grain moisture sensor with associated instrumentation to provide a continuous read-out of grain moisture content during grain harvesting. Moisture content of the grain was determined by measuring the resonant frequency of a capacitor formed by two metal electrodes with a moving column of grain forming the dielectric material. Tests have be conducted with wheat, barley and oats and two different geometries of electrodes; concentric and parallel.
