OSI Conformance Testing and Its Importance to Australia

An overview of OSI protocol testing is presented with details of conformance test systems and how they are used. Some of the more important international issues and testing organisations are reviewed. For local Australian developers to enter the expanding worldwide market for Information Technology products, Australia must support commercial OSI development centres, ensure availability of internationally recognised testing facilities, and educate industry on both the technical merits and commercial benefits of the technology.
