Readability Formulas: What's Out, What's In?.

READABILITY formulas are of inestimable value in m tching reading material to the ability of a given child. Our knowledge of a child's reading level based on formal or informal measures allows us to direct her/him to materials he/she can read without frustration. That is, such direction is possible if we have graded materials on hand. Or is it?
