Supplier matching ontology using case base reasoning

In the global competition, discovering the best supplier and matching the requirements are essential to maintain competitive advantage. Applying the semantic web technology in the SCM domain becomes available in the business point of view. But, natural language processing for the web document remains bottleneck in the semantic matching area. As a practical approach, we can utilize a previous similar case as a solution for the new requirement. This technique corresponds to the case based reasoning (CBR). The purpose of this paper is to find a solution for a new requirement through the matching with similar cases or creating a new case. This will enhance the value of supply network. A matching ontology is created for the requirement satisfaction. CBR matching based on descriptive logic and SWRL is implemented on the protege platform.
