Neural Network Control Using Active Learning

Tirthankar Raychaudhuri, Len Hamey, Rodney Bell · 1995

this paper to apply the concept of active learning to neurocontrol. The remainder of the paper discusses the proposal in greater detail. Section 2 gives a background of the state of the art in neurocontrol research and describes Model Reference Adaptive Systems in some detail. Section 3 explains the fundamental concepts of active and reinforcement learning systems. In Section 4 the overall basic design concepts of an active learning neurocontrol system are presented and it is compared with an adaptive control system. Finally in Section 5 a discussion on Optimal Experiment Design (OED) is included. OED provides a method to implement active learning in neural networks and this is a subject of ongoing investigation. 2 Background : State of the Art in Neurocontrol
