An Authentication Protocol Proposal to Guarantee Reliability of Wireless Node in IEEE 802.16s

An authentication technology of wireless mesh network which consists of wireless node is one of the important evaluation elements of wireless mesh network. This paper proposes an authentication protocol which reduces an authentication overhead of mesh router by reducing re-authentication processing of wireless node that moves between mesh routers in wireless mesh network environment. The proposed protocol carries the process of inter-authentication and agreement among mesh routers when goes through multi-mesh router so that the protocol makes seamless communication of wireless node possible by using trusted authentication information used in pre-mesh router even though the number of users who access to mesh router increases.
