Processes and Processors
GR Hellestrand · 1980
Factors affecting the specification, design and implementation of abstract, multiple process, and concrete multiple processor systems are discussed. The architecture of a novel, extensible, multiple microprocessor, failure tolerant computer system, designed specifically to support an abstract scheme of cooperating multiple process, potentially real-time, systems is briefly presented. This discussion exemplifies the desirable interaction between a general software model of systems and a specific hardware solution which explicitly supports the objectives of that model.
