Data Structures: Versatile Vehicles for Data Storage

Hank Marquis, Eric A. Smith · Apress eBooks · 2000

As you already know, your programs often use one of the standard variable types, such as currency, to represent single fields. However, sometimes you need more complex types of variables to represent more complex data. For example, you might want to store 10 pieces of information for each of your customers. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could store each customer’s data in a single variable, enabling you to work with that data as a single unit? How to represent complex data in this fashion requires understanding data structures. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
