The broadcast attribute of data propagation can effortlessly encounter attacks by illegitimate users. This interception leads to eavesdropping attacks and thus losing confidentiality of data. A diversified network compels security from attacks with high data rate. In wireless network every device has different protocols for data conversion, where data speed and memory is of main concern. The conversion of various parameters makes the physical layer component prone to attack. Data protection at the physical layer is significant in a wireless system. Stream cipher and scrambling codes can be used for protection of wireless system. The requirement of every application of is different which is sustained by various parameters like memory, bandwidth, Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) and level of protection required. This paper proposes a physical layer security system which adaptively selects a security algorithm best suited for the application based on these parameters. Keywords- Physical layer; scrambling code; stream cipher; SNR; application based.
