Review: Performance Analysis of FIR Digital High Pass Filters

Abstract-Various methods of filter design and analysis have been developed over the past three decades.. Filter design and analysis tool (FDA) is one of the Computer Aided Design tool available with MATLAB which enables design of the digital filter blocks faster and more accurate.In this work, the concept of various design techniques for FIR filter have been discussed and compare d. The main aim of this paper is to discuss the various design technique of high pass FIR filters using Windowing technique and optimal filter design technique.Window functions are structures proposed at many application areas. The windows having two or more independent parameters show useful spectral characteristic.In this research paper, Windowing techniques based on Rectangular, Hamming, Blackman and Kaiser Windows and optimal filter design technique based on Least-square, Equiripple, Generalized Equiripple, and Constrained band equiripple have been analysed and compared. The magnitude responses are demonstrated for different design methods at particular cut off frequency and different filter order and compared for performance evalution.
