Lúcio Soibelman, Hyunjoo Kim · 2000
As the construction industry is adapting the new computer technologies in terms of hardware and software, computerized construction data are becoming more and more available. By applying Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) and Data Mining (DM) as tools to identify the novel patterns in construction fields, this research analyzes the large amount of construction project data. Knowledge Discovery in Databases and Data Mining are the technologies that combine techniques from machine learning, artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, statistics, databases and visualization to automatically extract concepts, interrelationships, and patterns of interest from large databases.
