A Survey on Cooperative Relaying Protocols in Wireless Networks
Lovepreet Singh, Priyanka Dayal · 2016
In the coming years, the growth of internet services and the future generations of wireless/cellular communications requires reliable transmission over the channel and higher data rates. Cooperative communication is one of the latest techniques to form virtual antenna arrays in wireless communication. Cooperative communication has become more and more popular since it could alleviate the particularly severe channel impairments arising from multipath propagation in wireless networks. There are number of cooperative diversity protocols such as Selection relaying, fixed relaying and incremental relaying. These techniques are used to perform different sorts of processing by relay terminals. Fixed relaying technique is further divided into amplify and forward (AF) relaying and decode and forward (DF) relaying. In this paper, different cooperative communication protocols are discussed. The ability and analysis of cellular systems can be comprehensive without raising the mobile transmits power or increasing additional bandwidth.
