A Study of Authentication Method and License Distribution Mechanism for Group Distribution

Group Distribution is a kind of newer business distribution method that would allow to purchase the digital contents by an group, and only allow consumer registered in Group to be able to share contents. It makes convenience for consumer, but authentication of consumer and distribution of license are important points. In this paper, we propose two kinds of certificates, Identity Certificate and Attribute Certificate, to authenticate consumer. We demonstrate the structure and distribution of license which includes Encryption Key of content. To detect illegal distribution, we encrypt the Encrypt Key by an Personal Key which is generated by hashing the certificates of consumer and unique to each consumer with a high probability. Through the Personal Key, we can trace the owner of contents.
