Investigation of a Bluetooth Module Integrated with an Embedded Antenna

This paper presents a Bluetooth module integrated with an embedded antenna based on low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technology. By removing chip components such as inductors and capacitors for a matching circuit, a compact module can be realized with high performance. The overall size of the antenna itself is less than 3.4 ㎜ × 6.3 ㎜ with a substrate thickness of 0.8 ㎜. The propoesed antenna provides that the resonant frequency is 2. 48 ㎓ with a bandwidth of 53 ㎒ for VSWR < 2. Furthermore, the effect of PCB size and feeding line of the antenna are described as well.
