Congxin Wu, Zhi-gang Zhu · Journal of Natural Science of Heilongjiang University · 2004

The defections of the first definition of the absolute values for fuzzy numbers are presented through two theorems. It can't preserve the ordinary operation rule as the case of the absolute value of real number. Then the second definition of the absolute values for fuzzy numbers is further discussed, a equivalent definiton is presented and proved. Besides a relation about multiplication and absolute value of fuzzy numbers is presented. At last the comparisons of two definitions are presented, from cut-set and the figure of membership function.
