A Declarative Development Technique

Robert W. Harrison · WIT transactions on information and communication technologies · 1970

We present a way in which structured analysis and structured design can be used together with functional languages to produce a complete declarative development technique. We also examine the use of prototyping in the software development process by considering the use of functional languages for evolutionary prototyping. Our main conclusion is that the combination of structured analysis and structured design, evolutionary prototyping and functional languages produces a powerful methodology which facilitates the development of quality software.
