Feature interactions provide one of the most difficult problems in the enhancement of telecommunication systems The authors propose a model for negotiation to resolve conflicts in telecommunications systems at run-time, especially those arising from feature interactions. They describe the model and how it is being implemented as one version of the desktop multi-media conferencing system Touring Machine.
