Efficient Multimedia Streaming with the Mesh Network

In this paper, we propose an efficient VOD multicast scheme for the mesh network. To improve efficiency, the clients are grouped according to the MP and their local server. Each group shares the multicast stream based on the CIWP and a partial streams are transferred along the chain of local servers. In the WMN, clients (mobile nodes) are in motion when they are receiving a multimedia stream. Whenever intermediate node moves out, the partial stream is disrupted. Thus, we analyze the effect of the client dropout and then know that the change of the required network bandwidth is negligible according to dropout rate, when the arrival rate is enough high.
