Discusses an online writer identification method using impulse response of the finite impulse response system characterizing cursive script writing motion. The impulse response is determined from the handwriting motion with discrete-time parameter. In that case, the components in the horizontal and vertical directions are regarded as the input and output, respectively, of the system. With such impulse response the feature of handwriting motion can be described.
