The Wideband Characteristics of M/W Band at Urban Area with LOS

Jong Ho Kim · ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Circuits Systems, Computers and Communications · 2007

It has been measuring M/W band propagation characteristics at various environments. The environments are divided three parties. The measurements in each environment are done in line-of-sight case at carrier frequency of 8.05 ㎓. The channel sounder acts by PN mode and the chip rate is 100 Mcps. It measures channel impulse response with a resolution of 10 ns and a maximum delay time of 40.96 ㎲. RMS delay spread at downtown area of a great city is the biggest among them. The reason is some multipath due to dense arrangement of high-rise buildings, and lower height of transmitter antenna than height of buildings, and heavy traffic. On the contrary, in case of suburban area, it has flat terrain and there are a few radio paths relatively.
