ESUML - An Environment for the Analysis of UML-based Embedded Software Model

전상욱, 홍장의, 배두환 · 2007

The complexity of embedded software is growing rapidly. To cope with that, the modeling of embedded software is gaining popularity. However, the modeling in embedded system design community is limited to writing C/C++ codes that use APIs for communicating with hardware components. There need approaches that model embedded software in the more abstract level than the writing code level. Also, the method of validating nonfunctional requirements of the abstract model is needed. In this paper, we present an environment, named ESUML, for the analysis of UML-based embedded software model. It consists of three sub-tools. The modeler supports the drawings of UML diagrams and the rule-based analyzer verifies syntax errors and inconsistencies between the diagrams. The simulator validates the performance of software model on a hardware architecture. Through the environment, the user can correct design flaws in early phase of the embedded software development.
