Neural networks in vision

P.J.G. Lisboa · 1991

The application of neural networks to computer vision is introduced by reference to the recognition of handwritten numerals. Artificial neural network models are described and their operation as self-organised feature extractors, and in the classification of simple binary images, is discussed. Further applications to computer vision are reviewed.
