Rule-Based Modelling of Dynamical Systems
H. Kiendl, M. Krabs, Michael J. Fritsch · 1991
A new rule-based method for the modelling of dynamical systems is summarized and further developed. It allows to model the input-output system behaviour by IFTHEN-rules. The modelling is based on recorded time functions of input and output variables and generalizes the observed behaviour, even if these observations are incomplete, inconsistent or noisy. Resulting inconsistencies among the obtained rules are resolved by an inference strategy. The method can be used for the modelling and design of decision strategies in discrete event systems and of controllers for continuous systems. As an application example the design of a rule-based two-level controller is described.
