The ship ad-hoc network (SANET) extends the coverage of the high date rate terrestrial communications to the ships with reduced cost in maritime communications. Cognitive radio (CR) technology can help SANET to utilize the spectrum efficiently by exploiting the existing wireless spectrum opportunistically. However, hidden primary node problem decreases the performance of CR-based SANET. In this paper, we compare three traditional cooperative spectrum sensing (CSS) technologies on their performance for solving the hidden primary node problem. And to improve false alarm performance, a weights-adjust notification protocol (WANP) is proposed.
