Involving undergraduate computer science students in the support of academic research: a project report

This paper describes the Science and Math Value Inventory Project, a four-year interdisciplinary research project that collaboratively engaged undergraduate computer science students with the research team to build a system for the capture, management, and flexible analysis of project-generated data. The paper focuses on the student development of a software system to support the research, describes the organization of the development effort, and shares reflections on the software development process.
