A Cognitive and Formal Terminology for Descriptive Parameters in Concurrent Real-Time Distributed Software Systems
Atoosa Jalashgar · Studies in fuzziness and soft computing · 2001
This chapter is about the variety, difficulty and importance of characteristics of Concurrent Real-Time Distributed (CRTD) software systems, with special focus on failure, reliability and robustness analyses. Concurrent real-time related factors common to distributed as well as centralised systems are described in detail. The focus here is merely on task scheduling and inter-task communication. In that regard, problems encountered as a result of improper choice of design parameters are covered. Next, the characteristics of distributed systems are addressed. Limitations of software analysis methods in accounting for parameters involved in the design and analysis of CRTD systems are discussed. An approach to be used as an alternative framework is suggested.
