Describes the design flow for the design and implementation of three complex ASICs in a GSM subsystem. The authors demonstrate how algorithmic descriptions of the ASICs, specified at a high level using the ELLA hardware description language (HDL), were transformed to ELLA descriptions of efficient architectures and then synthesised to gate-level implementations using LOCAM. >
