CONSTRUCTING AN ONTOLOGY OF COHERENCE RELATIONS

The goal of this paper is to present a methodology of constructing an ontology of ‘coherent relations’. Few ontological studies have examined coherence relations due to their abstractness. Following an overview of the linguistic research on the classification of coherence relations, we propose an ontology based on the distribution of linguistic expressions that are considered to reflect objects in the real world. We then implement the proposed ontology by using an ontology editor.
