Key Words: ontology mapping, interoperability, hotel ABSTRACT : With the development of information technology today is the nature of today information is also experiencing growth. These developments pushed sources of information become increasingly dynamic, autonomous, diverse and large. Information diversity occurs not only at the technical level but also at the information representation level. This difference can occur in syntactic, schematic and semantic level. This diversity also occurs in the domain of hotel that does not have a reference standard in tourism domain. Traditional methods are not yet able to overcome the diversity issue and to achieve interoperability in heterogeneous data sources. So with this method the results can not necessarily relevant to the user desires. One of the best possible approaches is to develop the Query Rewriting that based on ontology and mapping. Mapping approach is used GLAV (Global-Local-As-View) which is a combination of GAV (Global-As-View) and LAV (Local As-View) approaches. While there is diversity in the terminology of each source of data for a particular domain name basically says the same meaning defined in the common ontology. At this research explained and illustrated query rewriting steps to create the hotel domain mapping using Protege 3.4 tool.
