Contour tracing of biomedical binary images

Threshold or segmentation processes decompose an image into regions. The output is usually a binary image. The primary geometrical information of these regions such as topology relations, size and shape are Important and it can be determined by the knowledge of the borders of these regions. Extraction and representation of region contours are therefore desirable.
