Applications of 8 and 16 Bit Microprocessors

E Schoell · 1977

The major variation between devices is in the width of the data word used for instruction and data transfer, eight and sixteen bit width being currently the most popular choices. This paper examines the criteria to be evaluated in making the decision, and examples of Australian designed applications are used for illustrations.
