One of the important obligations of an expanding research area is to discuss how to approach the teaching of the subject. We do not consider the transmission of technical knowledge as our main pedagogical problem. The pedagogical challenge is to make students pass smoothly from an academic way of working to a professional way of working. The purpose of this paper is to describe how programming languages are being taught at the Computer Science Department, University of Technology.
