On Resolution of Replica

Hidetsugu TSUCHIKURA · Journal of Electron Microscopy · 1954

One method that determine the resolution, or the shape limitation of replica, is described. The radius of curvature at rounded corner of specimen due to reproducibility of replica are measured. Georgia kaoline is used as standard specimen. Methyl methacrylate polymerized from monomer on the specimen, and molded ethyl-methacrylate polymer on the specimen are used as 1st replica, and evaporated thin metallic film–of Aluminium, Chromium and Germaniu–is used as 2nd replica. The resolution of each combinated replica are examined.
