Discrete synchronization of hybrid

Cont, rol theory is current.ly faced wit,h new paradigms and challenges t,hat fall beyond t,raditional problems. Nowadays applications t.end t,o be distributed, and re quire part.ial synchronizat, ion among their various sub systems. In this paper, we give init.ial st,eps towards discrete synchronizat, ion problems for syst, ems which are compositions of several, possibly dist, ributed, hybrid systems. Such problenis arise frequent.ly in the coordinat.ion of muhagent, systems: w,here each agent. is modeled as a hybrid system. This resu1t.s in cont, rol problems where the model is bhe composit.ion of decoupled subsyst, ems: but, the specificat, ion is coupled across subsyst.ems. A cent, raliaed solut.ion to this problem requires computing t,he product hybrid syst,em result.ing in st.ate explosion. We alternat.ively consider decent.ralized solut.ioris t,o such discret.e synclironizat, ion problems. Partially decent.ralized synchronizat.ion is achieved if each subsyst.em is allowed t.0 communicat.e with t,he subsyst, ems it needs t.o partially synchrcnize with. The required conimunicat.ion between agents is provided by modeling abstractions of the remaining agent.s. These abstract.ions, which are propert,p dependent., are t.lien used t,o derive local cont, rollers U+ ing global, but minimal, observations.
