In this paper. a novel beam control array an- tenna for advanced road to vehicle communication systems at 5.8 GHz band is presented. The antenna can change its radiation pattern in accordance with beam control informa- tion obtained from the communication traffic volume. To evaluate the proposed antenna performance. we have de- signed and constructed a prototype. Obtained theoretical and experimental results confirm that this antenna can be applied to adaptive radio zone controls, such as radio zone dividing and radio zone shifting.
