Theinteraction between theinput filter andthecontrol loopof switching regulators oftenresults indetrimental effects, suchas loopinstability, transient response,andaudio-signal-rejection rate, etc.A small-signal averagemodelisderived toinvestigate these effects. Design constraints ofan input-filter andswitching-regulator systemareformulated. Anoptimumlow-pass andlight-weight filter configuration isproposed.
