Selective Thresholding in Wavelet Image Compression
Prashant S. Sansgiry, Ioana Mihaila · Birkhäuser Boston eBooks · 2003
Image compression can be achieved by using several types of wavelets. Lossy compression is obtained by applying various levels of thresholds to the compressed matrix of the image. This paper explores nonuniform ways to threshold this matrix and discusses the effects of these thresholding techniques on the quality of the image and the compression ratio.
